Ok I got this this is like the third time I have started a post and I WILL finish this one. Intro Camp. The second week I was here I went to intro camp on Jutland in a town called Bjerringbro. It was at a type of high school I think you would call a boarding school. Or maybe a folk school? Anyway, I had two roommates that I stayed with who were both very nice, one from Canada and one from Colombia. They fed us every day too! Snacks in the morning, cake in the afternoon, and snacks in the evening too. Basically, the camp was to learn Danish language and culture. I had six hours of Danish lessons a day. The day usually started with breakfast, followed my a quick  morning assembly. Then, we went to Danish lessons with a teacher from Denmark, who was speaking English so everyone could understand. All exchange students coming to Denmark are required to speak English, and the couple that don't have serious problems.
We had occasional breaks determined by the teacher, and then a large break for lunch. This was followed by an hour where we could do whatever we wanted within the school grounds. Then, it was back to Danish language lessons. After dinner, there were Danish cultural activities. Sometimes, we could pick, and sometimes there was one activity. On Tuesday, in between the afternoon lesson and dinner, we got to go to the grocery store. Seeing as anything but water had to be bought at dinner, everyone bought soda, candy, chips, yada yada yada. It was amazing!!
So the first day, I flew from my little island to Copenhagen. (Yes, to my sarcastic friends and relatives, I did grow wings.) Then I stayed the night at another exchange student family's house, and got on a chartered bus with a bunch of exchange students. The Brazilians brought the music. And the South and Central Americans  sung and danced the entire five hours to Bjerringbro.
On the bus ride, I started to loose my voice. The next day, I woke up and felt awful. I couldn't talk, kept coughing, and had a fever. It stayed for a couple days. I still managed to have fun though!!
Thursday we took a day trip to Aarhus. Here are some pictures... We went to an art museum!! Then we were let loose on the town.

Try to figure out what things are!! (not the Starbucks, I know what that is...)
I also made a ton of friends and had lots of fun! (on the other side, I got sick and got lice... NO FUN)
And I think the number of facebook friends doubled. Sorry mom, you can't keep track of all of them.
Bye for now! Post again tomorrow!

  1. I'm glad you posted a picture of all the colored windows - I was trying to figure out why the color was off in all of your photos! :)
